Action Plan - Research

We know that we are attacking a big problem. We began a long time ago gathering as much infroamtion as we could find about the public poilicy problem we are trying to fix.

Much of the information we have found came from online resources. We have done extensive searches on our topic by searching the Internet. We have found a lot of valuable information. We were surprised at how much we were able to find about the City of Chicago and construction plans. We even found the plans about our new school. We figured our that the promises for construction do not always get follow through and that is a big problem. We found out that many things are promised and that the city and the Board of Education do not come actually do what they said they were going to do. We would probably get in trouble if we did not do what we said were going to do.

We want to share some of the information here.

Also here are some links to other valuable research and websites we have put together:

When we were doing all of our research we also were told about this great website that studnet had put together in Detroit. If you go to the website you can find all sorts of things about separate and unequal schools. We thought that this power point slideshow of the "Way We Learn" was like ours. See for youself.

Also, we have gotten a lot of letters of support from students at other schools. One of the schools that has supported us in Thomas Edison School in Morton Grove. They prepared this slideshow (coming soon) to show what their school looks like so that we (and you) could compare it to ours. There are big differences!

Unequal Schools in the Headlines

We thought that you would be interested in reading how schools are still unequal after 50 years after the Brown Vs. Board of Education decision. Click here to read the front page story by the Chicago Tribune 5/9/04.
